This post is basically a question to all twitter users. Why do you like Twitter? Why do you use Twitter?
A lot of people do not like twitter and refuse to use the site. It seems that some people think that Twitter and Micro-Blogging is a squander of time and serves no business purpose.
So if you have a moment and want to share your thoughts please post a comment and let everyone know:
Twitter Video Below:
No i don’t use twitter, its mostly for people with no life
I used to think it was nonsense. I was in that crowd of naysayers that talked crap about it… Until I learned how it actually works!
You really have to engage a bit. It takes time to build a following and once you do you have to participate in some way. Sure, you can link things up, but you also need to be active at times and pay attention to your followers.
I don;t get what you would call “traffic overload”, but what I do get is a steady stream of traffic every day to read my articles. One here, 20 there, whtever it is, it adds up at the end of the day.
I use it to promote products from my store, seems to do me very well. I don’t spend a bunch of time on Twitter I just make a comment with a link to my store and it gets sent to all my followers… I really should get more followers.
I use a few API’s on Twitter but Somedays I Wonder at Why I am Wasting Some Much Time on Twitter When Blog Commenting and Forums are Much More Effictive
I use Twitter for marketing products. Twitter is a Gold Mine!
I love to use it to helps market and let people know about products or services. I also love Robotir to be able to automate my Tweets and be able to get more Followers out of it making it very simple and effective to do so.
At first, I believed Twitter was a waste of time. Of course then I had 20 followers and didn’t know the dynamics of how to get any more.
Then I actually bought a small course on it. I usually don’t do that, and it wasn’t 100% worth the money this time, but it did open my eyes enough to realize what I had been missing all along!
Two things I use Twitter for… Showing off numbers to my audience and hits on my website.
I am in the entertainment business, not the website business. I have two audiences; Musicians and music fans. It is a radio show, that is the actual product. In show business it is about audience numbers. It is monkey-see-monkey-do. When people see I have close to 15K followers on Twitter… It matters! Not to me, but to them.
Then I discovered that it is one thing to have followers, it is another to interact! What Twitters real power is is in interacting with your followers.
On one level I autopost all of MY blog entries (I don’t use anyone’s RSS feed but mine, as some others do). I get hits on almost every entry. Not massive hits, but one here, twenty there and so on. They all add up over the course of a day as I schedule blog posts on a time line.
When I actually started interacting and really directing personal comments, retweeting, etc., I noticed that people were doing the same for me without prompting! Every time someone RT’s your post it shows up on their time line. It is true viral!
It takes a lot of time to build followers unless you are Oprah and have a built in fan base. I think, along these lines, it is just one of an arsenal that can be utilized.
That is my thought on the subject.
When twitter first came out, I said, “I am not going to use it”. But, some days passed, and everyone where only talking about twitter. It was even advertising on my television. There was no way I could escape hearing about this blue birdy website called, ‘twitter’.
So, after hearing all of those good remarks about twitter, I decided to join to help make my website grow. ( I was hoping for my website to get more traffic from twitter )
Then, as soon as I joined, I could not move from my computer. It was like an addiction of some sort. I loved every second of it. Until, I saw this big whale on the screen. Saying, “Twitter is over capacity”. I got so mad that day and I though I would never visit twitter again. But, you know I can not stay mad at twitter for so long, lol. So, I visited the website again, and I am normal when ever this happens because twitter is a nice website, and might even gain more traffic than facebook,
Sorry, but I can not edit.
In my first post, I made an error by mistake,
Just for everyone to know : ‘where’ = ‘were’ ( 2nd line )
twitter is my favorite lead generator.
take your time and learn what to do and how to do it right -OR - simply outsource the heavy lifting and stick with what you already do best
I do use twitter to get more visitor to my site. But apparently, it seems that its kind of hard to get followers in there and I don’t really know all twitter function yet. So, twitter is not really working for me.
I use twitter, its a good way to keep people updated when I add new content
Twitter is one of my top ways to get traffic to my blog, it also helps with SEO.
Thank you for the question. I use twitter first for getting traffic and next for getting new update information.
Here’s my 2-cents:
I do not really like Twitter. I think that its for people that have no life. Honestly, no body gives a flying rats ass if I’m working or in the shower or drinking wine with dinner. That’s just stupidity. I heard people using Twitter for SEO but honestly its a waste of time and here’s why:
1. In order for Twitter to work and generate traffic, you would have to be posting continuously. Who has time for that? Especially if you own a small business…
2. You would have to have a shit load of followers to see what you are posting. Even if you are continuously posting from your phone and computer, if you have little to no followers posting wont do you crap.
3. Both 1. and 2. are TIME CONSUMING. You are better off using that time for blog comments, or forum posting, or blog posting. Why? Because those are more efficient ways of gaining traffic and spending your time. Not only that but by these methods, you might learn something.
When the question comes up: What are you doing? and you are reading what someone is currently doing, what are you learning?
“I’m learning that soandso joe blow in London is a Dogers fan”
-As John Stossel would say GIVE ME A BREAK
With blogs and forums you can learn about NEW things that MATTER.
New SEO tips, marketing strategies, and academic things to enhance your life!
Say No to Twitter.
We advertise lots of great Contests and Giveaways on Twitter. What’s better than winning free stuff? Lot’s of companies run Twitter Contests just to build buzz about their company or product.
At this stage my site simply links to twitter pages of the various bars and nightclubs that are listed on my site.
I will be looking to incorporate a live feed (similar to one of my competitors) as it is a very simple way to update site info…
I’l be looking forward though to Google’s twitter search tool
Just started using it. Good for me to give live football updates during matches to feed into my site - http://fantasyfootballinfo.co.uk
I have just created a twitter (http://www.twitter.com/softsmart) account (on Christmas day — I’m obsessed )
I want to use it to promote my new business. What I am not sure about is how to do that.
We all hate spam and I don’t want a spammy twitter account, so what I’ll probably do is post some general info like inspiring quotes, links to cool articles, etc, then once in a while I’ll mention what’s new in my company, or offer promotional coupons to Twitter users.
Just try to ensure that whatever communication you have is of value… IE: Special offers, particularly unique information etc… You have to remember that they can opt out at the click of a button, so sending stock standard marketing communication is not going to help…
twitter is a great tool and i use it very often to generate traffic and sales to my website.
Kind Regards,

I can earn good informations about health issues there. very useful like many
health websites
I don’t like Twitter, but I use it for testing purpose for now.
3 things here:
1) You are famous and Twitter is for you. Fans want to know what you’re doing or where you are..Anything is good for fans, the color of your thong or of your urine.
2) You are not famous but you want to make money with Twitter, so you spam it, for your product, your site or the free contest to bring people. You are a spammer then.
3) you are not famous and you are not marketing anything. You will reach your 20th followers in 2025 after 2,678,234,945 tweets because who cares if you, Jonathan G. Dubronck from Jones Cove, Idaho, is giving birth to a fresh 12 inches crap or if your tuna sandwich is smelling fishy…If I was in this number, I’ll get a life instead…
I never used to pay much attention to twitter but had a hunch that having lots of eye balls on your material would pay off eventually so I played with it for a while.
Then I hooked up my facebook to twitter and my blog as well. Now I can make one post and both twitter and face book users get notified. So it’s a great “reach out” tool.
THEN, as a bonus, when you grow a good following, you can get paid to tweet as well.
Just started using it. It has some potential for integration into certain features of my site http://www.barkleyboy.com
I like Twitter it is a good way to stay up to date with what someone is doing and similarly you can let all your followers know what you are up to.
I love to use it to helps market and let people know about products or services.I want to use it to promote my new business. What I am not sure about is how to do that.
Twitter is a great way to develop personal relationships with a large number of people who have an interest or some involvement in your field. It has been a very easy and effective way for me to create awareness and a following at my BackPage Classifieds Promotional Codes Blog
Twitter is good not only on site but also to blog.We can easily follow all our followers and leave comments to there so site/blog with the use of tools like friendfeed and buzzom. Now that google integrate twitter to there real time search Twitter play the important role as a Social Networking and google as a top search engine.
I don’t like using twitter, but I use it to advertise my site. Really like the video in this post… well made. Cool post!
Twitter is the best for marketing
To be honest, I don’t like to use twitter. On a personal note, I find people post way too much nonsense, I don’t want to hear about the crap you took this morning or about how much you ate for lunch. People, specifically extraverts, feel the need to post every moment of the day.
But on a professional note, not utilizing a tool such as twitter would be a crime. The publicity is amazing.
I’m new to twitter and I look forward in exploiting it in the future. I use it to publish my article from http://www.dreamhousewebsolutions.com.
